Terms of Use — Cvilio
Last updated: 29 August 2026
By using Cvilio you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who you are contracting with
Cvilio is provided by Alaaeddine M.A. Kheir, Seehofweg 25, 21129 Hamburg, Germany, contactable at support@cvilio.de ("we", "us").
2. What the app does
Cvilio lets you write a CV, either from a template or on a blank page, and export it as a PDF or an image. An optional account synchronises your documents between devices.
3. Your account
You may use the app without an account. If you create one:
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.
- Tell us promptly at support@cvilio.de if you think someone else has access.
We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms or the law.
4. Your content is yours
You own everything you write. We claim no rights over your CV, its wording, or any photograph you add.
You grant us a narrow, revocable licence to store and transmit your documents for the sole purpose of providing the app — synchronising between your devices and rendering them for export. That is the entire scope. We do not use your content to train anything, we do not read it, and we do not show it to anyone. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for what you write. Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to use.
5. Subscriptions
5.1 The plans
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Weekly | €2.99 |
| Monthly | €4.99 |
| Yearly | €34.99 |
Prices are in euros and may differ in your local currency and with local tax. The price shown in the App Store or Play Store at the moment of purchase is the price that applies.
5.2 What is free
Building CVs, saving them, and exporting a plain-text version are free and unlimited. The free tier also exports your CV as an image, at reduced resolution and carrying a trial mark. A subscription removes both, unlocks the ready-made CVs, and enables PDF export and sync.
5.3 Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Your account is charged for the next period within 24 hours of the current one ending.
5.4 Cancelling
Cancel at any time:
- iOS — Settings → your name → Subscriptions
- Android — Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions
- Web — subscriptions are not sold through the website. If you subscribed on a phone, cancel it there.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or the next one is charged. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period. You keep access until the period you have paid for runs out.
5.5 Refunds
Purchases through Apple or Google are refunded by Apple or Google, under their policies — we cannot issue those refunds ourselves.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal on digital content. By starting to use a subscription immediately you are asked to acknowledge that this right lapses once the service has been fully performed. This paragraph does not reduce any right you have under mandatory consumer law.
5.6 Price changes
We may change prices. Existing subscribers are told in advance, and a price increase takes effect only at the next renewal after that notice. You can cancel first.
6. Letters written with AI
The Bewerbung feature sends the CV you choose and the job advert you paste to Anthropic, whose model writes the letter. Section 3.7 of the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent and what is not.
You are responsible for what you send. Do not paste anything you are not free to share — a confidential job description, or someone else's personal details.
Check the letter before you use it. A language model writes fluent text that can still be wrong. It may state a date, a duty or an achievement that is not in your CV, it may misread the advert, and it will not know anything about you that you did not give it. The letter is a first draft for you to correct and approve; you send it to an employer under your own name, and you are responsible for every claim in it. We do not warrant that a letter is accurate, suitable for a particular application, or that it will result in an interview.
The letter is yours. As between you and us, you own what the feature produces for you, on the same terms as section 4. We claim no rights over it. Note that a model can produce similar text for different people from similar inputs, so we cannot promise your letter is unique.
Fair use. A subscription includes up to 60 AI actions per calendar month, on every plan. The allowance starts again on the first of each month for as long as the subscription is active.
They become available at 2 per day, and they accumulate: a day you do not use is not lost, so after three days there are six waiting, and after thirty the full sixty. Whatever is unused at the end of a month does not carry into the next one.
Writing a letter is one action; each revision — "make it shorter", "more formal" — is one action too, because each one is a separate request to the model. The count is shown in the app. The feature is part of the full version and is not available without a subscription.
Each request costs us money, so we may suspend the feature for an account that is automating it, running it through scripts, or otherwise using it in a way no individual job-seeker would. We may change these numbers, with notice as described in section 13 for anything that reduces what you have paid for.
Do not use the feature to produce unlawful, deceptive or harassing content, or to misrepresent your qualifications.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to defeat the paywall
- resell or redistribute the app, or the ready-made CV content, as your own product
- upload unlawful content, or content infringing someone else's rights
- attempt to access another user's documents or account
- use the app to impersonate someone else
8. Our content
The app, its designs, the six ready-made CVs, and the templates belong to us and are protected by copyright. Your subscription licenses you to use them to make your own CV. It does not license you to redistribute them, or to sell them as templates.
9. Exports are pictures, not text
This is a genuine limitation and you should know about it before relying on the app for an application.
The PDF is produced by capturing the on-screen preview, which guarantees the file always matches what you approved. The trade-off is that the pages contain rendered artwork rather than selectable text, so some applicant tracking systems cannot parse them.
The app therefore also produces a plain-text version of your CV, which is free and unrestricted, for pasting into application forms. We recommend using it wherever a system asks you to paste your CV rather than attach it.
10. No warranty
The app is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will get you a job.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. The app has a "copy a backup to the clipboard" action for exactly this. Local-first means your documents live on your device, and a lost or wiped device takes them with it unless you signed in or kept a backup.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, lost employment, or lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
12. Ending it
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access if you materially break these terms; where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept them.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the courts of Hamburg have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
15. Apple-specific terms
Required by Apple where the app is obtained from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not you and Apple.
- Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. Beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal-compliance and intellectual-property claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
